Vehicle Manufacturers (OEMs) as well as Automotive suppliers (Tier 1s) are now facing the challenge to validate, test and produce all the radar systems that will finally be deployed in the new generation of vehicles. Since the radar systems are very complex the test systems need to be highly customized.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
\u200dChanges and test requirements during the V&V (Validation and Verification) often occur, where upgrades or downgrades are needed.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
At present the following radar types are heavily adopted:<\/div>
* Short Range Radar (SRR)<\/div>
* Mid Range Radar (MRR)<\/div>
* Far Range Radar (FRR)<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
For major ADAS applications such as AEB, ACC, and FCW, which directly control the vehicle’s engine, steering, or brakes, radar systems predominantly operate within the 76-81 GHz radar band. The bandwidth ranges from sub-1 GHz up to 4 GHz, depending on the antenna design and specific use case. This necessitates employing an exceptionally advanced approach to test these systems and ensure the requested specifications can be validated.<\/div>

ADAS Radar testing conducts:<\/p>

  • The production release<\/strong>\u00a0of Radar Target Simulator; Multiple independent targets from different AoA (angles of arrival); High volume automotive radar sensor development.<\/li>
  • Radar Embedded Software Development;\u00a0<\/strong>Highly efficient implementation of Radar algorithms; Support for higher bandwidth; Special embedded know-how for dedicated auto-Radar multi-core\u00a0processors.<\/li>
  • Radar Signal Processing Software;\u00a0<\/strong>Software design tools; Specification and traceability tools; Code analysis, integrity testing, module testing; In-house prototype assembly and testing.<\/li>
