Key Responsibilities
- Driving for Testing:
- Operate test vehicles equipped with ADAS systems in various environments, including urban, highway, and off-road conditions.
- Follow predefined test scripts and routes to evaluate ADAS features like lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, etc.
- Data Collection:
- Collect and document detailed performance data from test drives, including video recordings, sensor logs, and system responses.
- Identify and report anomalies, failures, or unexpected behavior during tests.
- Safety Management:
- Maintain high safety standards during testing to ensure the safety of the driver, passengers, and surrounding traffic.
- Conduct pre-drive inspections of test vehicles to ensure readiness.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineers to provide feedback on system performance and suggest improvements.
- Assist in setting up and calibrating testing equipment, including cameras, sensors, and diagnostic tools.
- Real-world Scenarios:
- Simulate real-world driving conditions to validate ADAS functionality.
- Conduct adverse condition tests, such as low-light, rain, or uneven road surfaces.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Record observations, complete checklists, and prepare reports on ADAS system performance.
- Participate in debriefing sessions with engineers and project teams.
Qualifications
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Additional certification in automotive testing or a related field is a plus.
- Experience:
- Valid driving license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of professional driving experience (test driving or similar roles preferred).
- Familiarity with ADAS features and vehicle systems.
Required Skills
- Driving Expertise:
- Proficient in handling various types of vehicles, including manual and automatic transmissions.
- Comfortable driving under different road, weather, and traffic conditions.
- Technical Acumen:
- Basic understanding of automotive systems and ADAS technologies.
- Ability to operate testing tools, such as data loggers, diagnostic software, or in-vehicle systems.
- Attention to Detail:
- Strong observational skills to notice minor system issues or unexpected behaviors.
- Communication:
- Clear verbal and written communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with engineers.
- Safety Awareness:
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and maintaining situational awareness during testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in automotive R&D or testing environments.
- Knowledge of ADAS features and systems.
